Daily Activities
There are 3 levels of Membership:
1. Play for Free
2. Welcome Pass (this type of membership is being phased out)
3. Birth Certificate
1. Anyone can sign up for free! With a free membership, you will get a character ("avatar") that you can personalize. You can play many of the games, but not all of them. You will not get a Cub Condo. You can upgrade your free membership any time by adding a furry friend (either through a Welcome Pass or Birth Certificate).
2. If you have a Welcome Pass, you can enter that code on the Build-a-bearville site (in Town Square at the Workshop) to bring up to 5 furry friends to life! I do not have any Build-A-Bear Workshops near me, so I emailed them to ask if I could buy a code somehow. They generously mailed me a Welcome Pass! Unfortunately, this option is no longer available however. It used to be that you could get a Welcome Pass for 2 reasons: 1.) If you did not have a Build-A-Bear Workshop near you, or 2.) you had bought a furry friend before October 2007. That is because the Build-a-Bearville webpage was launched in October 2007, and they wanted to take care of their customers who had bought a furry friend before that time. But now they have stopped printing Welcome Passes because they believe they have now sufficiently taken care of these 2 groups of people. I'm sure they figure that anyone who wanted to bring a furry friend to life who had bought one before October 2007 would have already done so by now, and they now have the option of buying a Furry Friend online, so everyone is taken care of now. You may still be able to get a Welcome Pass for a little while at your local Build-A-Bear Workshop. They may have some left. But Build-A-Bear will not be printing any more. So if you have a Build-A-Bear that you bought before October 2007, try to get your Welcome Pass before they run out! With this membership, you will get a Cub Condo, which will include a room for every furry friend, plus a main living room. You can then purchase additional rooms from the Lumbear Yard. You will be able to play almost every game in Build-a-Bearville with this type of membership. There is a Quest in the Libeary which you cannot play until you have a Birth Certificate though. Also, you won't get the pet's special items and special wallpaper.
3. Birth Certificate: You get this by buying a Furry Friend from a Build-A-Bear Workshop, or from www.buildabear.com. With this membership, you will get 2000 bear bills or more, a special item specific to your pet, new decor for decorating your Cub Condo, and an Animal Adventure (a game you play to receive a prize). You can play all the games in Build-a-Bearville with this membership. You can also get Store Credits for money that you spend at Build-A-Bear. With those, you can shop at the Bear Boutique and buy special items - including clothing for your furry friends and cool furniture - that you cannot get at the Bear Stuff store.
Getting Around Build-A-Bearville
Here is Town Square. Everywhere you go in Buildabearville, you will see the little blue icons on the top and bottom of the screen. I will explain each of their functions below.
This is the Games icon. Click it to see the list of all the Games
in Bearville. Click on the game you want to play. You can
also get to the games by going to the appropriate place in Bearville
and clicking on the game directly.
This is the Music icon. There is music playing in Bearville, and
you can use this icon to adjust the volume, turn off the music, switch
songs (just double click the song you want), or make your own mix.
This is the Help icon. Click it to get help! You can read
the Frequently Asked Questions, or send your own question. You
will receive an answer in your email.
This is the Map icon. Click it to see a map of all the
places in Bearville, and go directly to the section you want. You
can also get to different places in Bearville by clicking on the arrows
on the ground (that will take you to the place that is right beside of
wherever you are. With the map, you can jump anywhere).
This is the Cub Condo Icon. Click it to go to your Cub
Condo, to visit other peoples' cub condos, or to set your preferences
(you can decide who to let visit your Cub Condo: everyone, just
your friends, or only you).
This is the Friends List icon. Click this to see all your friends.
This is the Emoticons icon. Click this to express yourself with a variety of Emoticons!
This is the Chat Menu. Click this to pull up a menu of
things to say. If you have set your preferences to allow freer
chatting, then you can just type whatever you want to say in the blue
line at the bottom of the screen (where it says "Say it'). A word
will appear red if you are not allowed to use that word.
This is the PDA icon. This gives you access to many things.
You can read the Bearville news from here. You can send and
receive messages, view your progress on the Quests that you are
playing, set your chat preferences and other things from here.
This is the My Stuff icon. Click this to see all of the
items you have, including clothing, furniture, and your furry friends.
You can change your clothes by clicking on this. You can
choose a different furry friend, or dress your furry friend this way.
This is the Moves Icon. You can make your character dance,
wave, wait, and other things by clicking on this. You can earn
different types of moves sometimes. For example, during Bearemy's
Birthday we received a Confetti move, which makes your character throw
confetti!Daily Activities:
1. Coin Fountain: Every day, you can get something from the Coin Fountain! It is in Town Square. You will get 3 tries to hit an item in the fountain with a coin. You can get bear bills, or an exclusive item which you can only get here! I have won many awesome prizes from the Coin Fountain!
2. Sportsplex: Every day, you can go to the Sportsplex, enter the building and click on the bear at the desk there. Then simply check off all the activities you have done that day, and you will get 10 bear bills for every item you check. You can get up to 100 bear bills. This is on the honor system!
3. Environmentally Pawsome Nature Walk: Go to the Pawsitively Green Center, and click on the Recycle Arrows on top of the building there. This will begin a quest for you. It will place 5 items all around Buildabearville that you must find. They are all items that can be composted - things like twigs, cobwebs, tulips, etc. Once you have found and clicked on all 5 items, go back to the Pawsitively Green Center and click the Recycle Arrows again. You will receive 200 Bear Bills! I always begin the quest when I sign on, so that as I'm playing throughout Bearville, I can pick the items up. Then if I haven't found them all by the time I'm ready to quit playing, I just go around and try to find the last items. Sometimes, they can be pretty hard to spot!
