(Mostly) Devotional Songs

All of these songs are sung a capella by me (except for the very last ditty which I made with soundboards).  All songs are in mp3 format.  I don't always hit all the notes right, but I do sing with my heart.  ;-)

Christian
Give Us Clean Hands
Amazing Grace
The Darkest Hour is Just Before Dawn
My Song of Love  I wrote this one myself.  It is to God.
St. Paul's Song  I wrote this song from what I thought might be St. Paul's perspective.
Lord, I want to be a Christian in my heart
Somewhere She's Sweet  I wrote this song.  It is about a girl who has lost her way,
but it acknowledges that somewhere deep inside of her is still the desire to know God.
Wayfaring Stranger  I recorded this one before I realized I needed to stand further from the mic.  Sorry about the clunky noise in the beginning.
They Will Know We Are Christians by Our Love  I love this song, although I do not agree that only Christians are known by their love.  But it does remind us that the greatest evangelism is sincere compassion, and love should be a hallmark of the Christian life.

Hine Lo Yanum (Shomer Yisrael) (Behold the Guardian of Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps)
Eli, Eli (My God, My God)  The first part I sung in Hebrew, and the second part is in English.  This song was written by Hannah Senesh, from a concentration camp.  For words and translation, click here.

Hindu
Gayatri Mantra  2 Versions.  The first version is sort of "New Agey" and the second one is more traditional Indian (it is the version of Anuradha Paudwal (2nd version begins at about 2:30).  For words and translation, click here.
Ramaya Ramabhadraya
Sri Venkateshwara Chant
Sri Krishna Govinda Hare Murare
Achyutam Keshavam

Buddhist
Chant of Pure Land Buddhism in English I composed the tune, and the words are the English translation of the Pure Land Buddhist Chant.  When I sing it, I have God in mind, although if a Buddhist were singing it, they would have Amitabha Buddha in mind.

Miscellaneous
Sweet Scent of Rose  I wrote this one, but to the tune of an Indian song
High on a Hilltop  an old song I just love.  I grew up listening to my Dad sing this one as he played his guitar.
The Sun Never Shone Brighter  I wrote this one.  It has a sort of Native American sound to in my opinion.
The Kingwood Song I wrote this song in the car on a drive through Kingwood, WV.
Mi Tierra  (My Land).  This is in Spanish, originally sung by Gloria Estefan.
The Boxer Emmylou Harris version (From her Roses in the Snow album)
One Paper Kid an Emmylou Harris and Willie Nelson song.
When You Look in the Mirror  This is a tiny song Dolly Parton sung on a tv special once.
Roses in the Snow
I have a Promise silly little thing I wrote in the car.
Thumbelina One of my all-time favorite children's songs.

Christmas
Farolito (Little Star) Spanish Christmas Eve Song.  In Gloria Estefan's version, backup singers take some of the parts.  I only had me though.  ;-)
O Come Emanuel  My computer was running slow, and caused some skipping in these recordings.  Sorry about that!
Joy To The World
The Little Drummer Boy
O Come All Ye Faithful

Just Plain Silly
Dr. Phil on the phone with Michael Jackson! I made this with soundboards for Dr. Phil and Michael Jackson.  I was in a silly mood!
