Black Bear!

Congratulations Kitty668, the Winner of the Webkinz Black Bear Writing Contest!

Below is the story she wrote

Once upon a time, there was a little black bear named
Appalachia.  She was so sweet, but everyone in school
would always pick on her just because she was
different.  She went to Bear Elementary School.  Everyone
there were polar bears except her.  She was a black
bear.  She just didn't understand why everyone would
pick on her just because she was black.  She would
always have to play by herself at recess and sit by
herself at lunch.  Every night, she would cry.  Her
feelings were always hurt.  Her heart was broken.

One day, she couldn't take it anymore.  So she left Bear
Elementary School.  She went into the dark woods. Then
she was so tired, she sat down on a rock to rest for
awhile. Then when she sat down, a fairy appeared right
next to her!  Appalachia jumped up and screamed,"Ahhh!"
"Oh no. Don't worry. I won't hurt you,"said the
fairy. "Who are you?" asked Appalachia. "Why I'm just a
fairy. That's all," said the fairy. "What do you want
from me?" asked Appalachia. "I came here to warn you
that the hunters have come to attack your polar
friends!" said the fairy. "They're not my friends. They
pick on me all the time," Appalachia said sadly. "Yes, I
know that, but this is serious!  You need to rescue
them!" said the fairy.  "Well, what can I do?" asked
Appalachia."  "Here, take this fairy dust. When you see the
hunters, spread this on them.  Then they will disappear
and won't harm your friends," said the fairy.  "Well, why
can't you do it yourself?" asked Appalachia.  "Silly, I'm
just a fairy.  I can't do it.  Only you can do it
Appalachia," said the fairy.  "Well, ok I will rescue
them."said Appalachia.  "Run Appalachia!  Before it's too
late!" yelled the fairy.

So then Appalachia ran as fast
as she could. Then she was there. The hunters were
trying to attack her friends. The polar bears yelled
and screamed as loud as they could. She did just what
the fairy had asked.  She spread the fairy dust on the
hunters.  Just then the hunters had disappeared into
thin air. The polar bears saw that Appalachia had
rescued them. They all said sorry to Appalachia about
picking on her and not being her friend.  They also said
thank you to Appalachia.  Appalachia was very happy
that everyone finally liked her.  She thought of the
fairy, and thanked her.  Now everyone lived happily ever
after.
