Heron's Guide To Webkinz Trading Cards
 Series 1

When you buy a pack of Webkinz Trading Cards, you get 6 cards.  There will always be 1 Feature Code Card.  The other 5 will be traditional trading cards, and you can collect these just like you would collect any other kind of trading cards.  There are 111 different cards to collect.  About 1 in every 36 packs will contain a special card with a free online pet.  You can enter the code at the Adoption Center and it is just like adopting any other pet.

Besides the Free Online Pet Cards and the Feature Code Cards, there are 4 different types of cards:

1. 80 Webkinz Deck Cards
2. 15 Challenge Cards
3. 8 Curio Shop Curiosities
4. 8 Doodlez Cards

Here you can see a sample of each of the 4 types of cards:

4 Types of Trading Cards

The Feature Code Card will have from 1 to 4 "Feature Codes."  You enter these in the Code Shop, and they will each give you a random prize.  Following is a list of everything which you may possibly get from a feature code.  (If I have left out anything, please contact me and let me know).

1. An amount of kinzcash, ranging anywhere from something in double digits to 50,000. I think the most I've ever gotten was 5000 or 6000. It's usually way less.
2. A set of coupons. These are usually pretty good, like 70% and 80%, but can be any percentage. They may also include Wacky Bingoz Coupons, and Extra Spin on the Wheel of Wow coupons.
3. A bag of 10 groceries.
4. A special recipe food.
5. An item from the Egyptian, Medieval, or Science Theme.
6. An item from the Trading Card theme (see image below). This theme can only be gotten through Trading Cards, so the items have good trading value. These are the blue and yellow pieces. It also includes 5 posters (Quizzy, Wishing Well, Pool, Red Dragster, and Zangoz), and an Ultra-Modern TV.
7. An item from the Classic Gaming Theme (see image below). This theme can only be gotten through Trading Cards, and has good trading value.
8. A Webkinz Studio with a character and playset.
9. A Zingoz Dicekinz Pack. This can only be gotten through Trading Cards. I always just sell it for $200.
10. An outfit. The outfit rarely matches! It's just a random shirt, shoes, and pants. BUT the great thing about these outfits, is they often include one piece of Kinzstyle Clothing.
11. VERY rarely, you will get every piece of the Egyptian Theme. But that's very very very rare, so don't count on that!

This room includes every piece of the Classic Gaming Theme.  All items pictured are part of that theme except for the Coat of Arms, Carved Lion Statue, and the W Snow Globe.  I should mention that you can get the Wallpaper and Flooring from Arte's Curio Shop.  The rest of the theme however can only be gotten through Trading Cards.

This is the Ulra-Modern TV, only available from Trading Cards.

Virtual Trading Card Packs

On every Feature Code Card there is also a code for a "Virtual Trading Card Pack." That virtual pack always includes 5 virtual cards. They are random and could be from any 1 of the 4 groups above. Since they are random, they will not necessarily be the same cards you got with the real pack.  When you enter the code, the Virtual pack will be placed in your dock. Just drag it to a room, and it will open, allowing you to see which cards it contains. All the cards in it will automatically be added to your trading card binder (can be bought in the W-Shop). You don't have to do anything, they will just be there.

Trading Card Binder

If you open your Trading Card Binder (just click on it), you will be able to see which cards you have. You'll have to turn the pages in order to see all the Webkinz Deck Cards, because there are so many of them. Each card will be placed in its proper spot, according to its assigned number. If you have more than one of the same card, it puts them in the same spot, and just has a number to indicate how many of that card you have.  You can click on each card to view a larger picture of it, and you can read what the card says.  They sometimes contain interesting information.

Once you collect all of the cards in a particular group, you will be able to unlock a prize.

1. Once you have collected all 80 Webkinz Deck Cards, you can go to the prizes tab in your Binder, and unlock the prize. The prize is a little golden statue of a dog. (Has great trading value!).

2. Once you have collected all 15 Challenge Cards, you can unlock the Ultimate Challenge Sports Car. It is blue and yellow, like the Trading Card theme.

3. Once you have collected all 8 of the Curio Shop Curiosities cards, you can unlock the "Ye Olde Moving Picture Box TV" - which goes with the Medieval Theme but can only be gotten this way. It has tremendous trading value.

4. Once you have collected all 8 of the Doodlez cards, you can unlock a Sketched Window. It can be placed in your room just like any window. It has tremendous trading value.  The window is fairly small - the 2nd picture below is how it looks in a room.

Once you have collected ALL cards, in all groups, you get to unlock the grand prize, which is a large marble Trading Card Statue, with priceless trading value.

Grand Prize

Unfortunately, virtual cards cannot be traded with other Webkinz users.

If you are interested in the prizes you can get from Trading Cards, but are not particularly interested in collecting actual Trading Cards, you can buy Feature Codes from various sources on Ebay.  You can also buy Virtual Pack Codes from Ebay.  This is a cheaper way to collect the prizes.  Make sure that you are aware of which type of code you are purchasing.  Remember, a "Feature Code" is the one that will give you a random prize.  A "Virtual Pack Code" will give you a virtual pack to add to your Binder.  Because of new Ebay policy, the codes can no longer be simply emailed.  The seller is required to actually mail the card containing the codes.
