Too Old For Webkinz? Impossible!!!
I realize that Webkinz was designed primarily for children.
However, I see no reason whatsoever why teenagers, young adults,
-- and yes....even older adults -- can't enjoy Webkinz as much as
anyone! I am 33 years old myself, and my friend who is 32
years old is the one who introduced me to Webkinz. She has a
6-year old daughter who became interested in them. But the mother
loved them as well! And when she saw them, and what fun they
were, she knew that I would also love them! I have a dear friend
who is in her 70's and loves Webkinz as much as I do! Neither of
us even have children of our own!
The first thing I would like to point out is that Webkinz World has the best games I have ever seen anywhere on the net.
I used to play games on Gamesville and World Winner before I got
my Webkinz account. World Winner is only for adults, because, if
you desire to, you can play for money on that site. But guess
what?! Not only are Webkinz games better than the World Winner
games in my opinion, but some of the games are basically the same!
For example, "Swap-it" and "Bejeweled 2" on World Winner are
basically like "Goober's Lab" on Webkinz. There was a game on
World Winner, which I believe was called Haunted Mine, which was very
much like the new Webkinz game, "Home Before Dark." Other games
on Webkinz World are very similar to games which older people enjoy all
the time, such as "Tile Towers," which is essentially Mahjong.
And Candy Bash is just like that very popular game where you try
to knock out bricks or whatever with a ball. Dogbeard's Bathtub
Battles is a version of Battleship, but better! I like the
special canons that you can use, which make the game more interesting
than Battleship. You can also play games like Checkers, Pool
(which is very life-like), Air Hockey (this game is so lifelike it's
almost like the real thing!), and Connect 4 ("Link'd"). Of course
there are
plenty of games geared towards younger children, but there are so many
to choose from, you are bound to find some favorites!
I love trivia,
and even though Quizzy's Corner is geared towards ages 5 to 13, I still
am amazed at how much I learn from doing Quizzy's! How many
children, let alone adults, know what pulchritudinous means? But
that was a Quizzy's question! Thanks to Quizzy, I now know what
it means. I also love learning about those silly little laws that
various states have, such as - did you know it was illegal to sleep on
a couch in Virginia? The Fun Facts category of Quizzy's Corner
includes numerous funny laws like that.
I used to sort of make fun of my mom because she is always watching
those decorating shows! She just loves to see the different ways
to decorate a house. Then I realized that I am not so different
from Mom! I LOVE to decorate
my Webkinz house. There are so many different things you can do.
I think it's as close as I'll ever get to being on "Trading
Spaces." hahaha.
Furthermore, it is not only children who enjoy collecting
things. Many adults have collections - NASCAR, Baseball Cards,
Stamps, Coins, and so on. Webkinz is a Collector's dream!
Not only are there plush animals to collect (some of them are now
worth quite a bit of money), but there are virtual items to collect as
well. This is an interesting concept, but let me tell you, it can
be very addictive. There are rare items, exclusive items,
seasonal items, and so on. Some of the virtual items even get
retired. It can be quite fun to see how many of these rare and
exclusive items you can collect.
And last but not least, it is not only children who long for a safe, wholesome
website where they can spend time relaxing. It is just so nice to
know that I never have to worry about someone saying something
inappropriate or insulting to me while I am in Webkinz World. I
do not have to worry about X-rated or violent ads coming up. It
is the way I think it should be everywhere else! It is nice to
know that there is a place where we can still go to find a fun, safe,
and wholesome atmosphere.
